I have been a painter and artist all my life. After leaving Harrow Art School in 1972 I joined a London studio and worked on magazine story illustration whilst I developed my fine art skills.

Since then I’ve my painted almost every subject in watercolour, pastel, oil and acrylic and had success in exhibiting in London galleries, including the Mall. Locally I was invited to belong to Bucks Art Society and exhibit with them at least twice a year. Bucks Visual Arts via the Visual Images Group and West Wycombe Art Group where I paint with friends on a regular basis.

In the last few years my figurative work has become predominant to the point where I believe that it is my total love and speciality. I enjoy sketching people in all environments and exploring ways to include them in my next work.

I take regular commissions for formal and informal portraits although I prefer to create a painting from inspiration rather than instruction.

I also tutor a small drop-in class once a month for portrait, figure and life which I enjoy almost as much as producing the work myself. It’s so satisfying watching others paint and learn.
